ABOVE ALL

Meaning:
  • more than anything else
Example:
  • A winter hike calls for good equipment, but above all it requires careful planning

ABOVE AND BEYOND

Meaning:
  • more than is required
Often precedes "the call of duty", which means exceeding what a particular job requires.

Example:
  • Putting in overtime without pay is above and beyond the call of duty.

ABOVE SUSPICION

Meaning:
  • so trustworthy as never to be suspected of wrongdoing
Example:
  • The wife of Caesar must be above suspicion.
